Hello people of the world,

My name is Douglas William Thurstan Smith. I live in a humble coastal town of Australia, Port Macquarie with my beautiful partner.

I have lived up and down the East Coast of Australia from the Gold Coast to Wollongong but home will always be Port Macquarie.

I lived on the Gold Coast for a year from 19-20 years of age and then the last 7 years in Wollongong.

I have a Bachelor of Arts – Creative Writing/ Sociology/ Philosophy, which I graduated in 2017.

Fantasy is were my passion lays but I also write fiction and poetry.

I created this blog to build an online audience for my creative writing. I have had a blog for my sporting career but this is strictly academic.

All photos will be either taken by me or of me, I will give recognition if not. Hopefully you enjoy this new journey as much as I do.

Douglas W. T. Smith.

  1. Hi Douglas, I aspire to being a writer and am enjoying the journey! I haven’t taken any courses or studies in writing but I have read a lot, and probably learned a lot from it. I created an author blog for myself this year, partly to ‘get my books out there’, but just as much to share writing thoughts and experiences. I look forward to following you! πŸ™‚

      • Thanks Douglas, and thanks also for the follow. I’ll look forward to your posts here. I also do a lot of nature photography and use bits of it for illustrations. πŸ™‚

  2. Thank you for following me. I was going to say our writing genres seem to differ quite a bit but then I thought, hey, poetry could be fantasy and vice versa. So, here’s to both our journeys! πŸ™‚

    • They are different but I still write a lot of poetry, it makes me think a certain moment and expand on that in a literal way.
It’s all still a form of creative writing at the end of the day too πŸ˜ƒ
Here’s to both of our journeys! ✌️

  3. Hey! Thank you for the like and the follow! I’m a creative writer too (and, as you might guess from the post, I write mostly fantasy, though I’ve been branching out into poetry that isn’t explicitly speculative); I wish you the best πŸ™‚

    • Hello! Thank you as well, I believe poetry and fantasy intertwine at different stages, depending on the protagonist πŸ˜ƒ
Good luck to you too, and I’ll see you out there on the battlefield of publication βœŒοΈπŸ˜ƒ
