Questions for Me.

What is your favorite season of the year?

Favourite season of the year is Autumn – Fall. For two reasons, days can still be mild and evenings are cooler. More optimal for cozy reading and writing wrapped in a a blanket by the fire.

What do you do when you’re stuck in traffic?

I try to listen to soothing melodies or classical music to drown out the vehicles and abusive shouting.

How do you prepare your space to write?

I prepare my writing space by spacing my writing books out next to my laptop, my dog bed at my feet and soft violin or piano instrumental music.

Name one of your obsessions.

Dragons. I love dragons, if you incorporate dragons into a story, you have my sale and full attention – providing you intertwine an enticing plot and characters.

What music can you not live without?

I have been hooked on music from movies recently. For example Hans Zimmer’s symphonic pieces in Inception and Dunkirk – that is something I could not live without.

What time of day is the most conducive for writing?

The most conductive time for writing, for me, is at nighttime around 9pm. However, I have been writing more in the daytime to see how my stories evolve in a different time of the day. What I noticed is, at daytime I am easily distracted whereas at night I have no other distractions.

How do you push yourself to finish a story?

Deadlines have a significant influence to finish my stories but with my novel I have no deadlines just my own motivation and my key motivation for that is to have other people reading my story. I want that feeling of someone else feeling for the characters I have created and tested through adventures and decisive moments.

What is an irrational fear you have?

I think an irrational fear I have is not finishing my projects. I read a lot of writers and authors with piles of unfinished stories – that fears me the most.

What’s your favorite character you’ve written so far?

My favourite character I have written so far is Morgan. A young adolescent boy that has been sheltered his whole life and as the story progress he discovers more of the world and himself. You will be able to follow Morgan once my novel is complete, please subscribe or follow to keep up-to-date with my literary journey.

Do you have a perfect happenstance in time you remember? What happened?

A perfect happenstance in time for me is meeting my partner. Several years ago, I lived down Wollongong, Australia and I planned to do a soul searching camping trip along the east coast of Australia. Stopping in at random towns and appreciating different parts of the coast. Before I left, I made the decision to stop at my hometown, Port Macquarie for a night, to see mum, gather my belongings and refill petrol. I bumped into some friends down the beach and Jade (partner) was among them. We grew up together and knew each other on surface levels. From then, we were inseparable and we spent the next few days in Port Macquarie, which wasn’t intended, and I eventually asked her if she wanted to join me on the camping trip. Two weeks later, we were dating and now four years later we are still together. The happenstance of the story is if I did not stop in at Port Macquarie, I would not be with her today.

What is your favorite part of summer?

My favourite part of summer is reading a book at the beach. Nothing is better than laying in the sun and devouring into a thick epic fantasy series.

  2. Thank you so much for the nomination! I also apologize for taking so long. I saw this, but I was having health problems and knew I wouldn’t be able to tackle it right then. But alas, I am healed! Sort of. And very honored that you thought of me and looking forward to doing this. 🙂
