Birthday

farm

In early Spring,

fresh emerald, darkens and deepens

and tints of purple-maroon,

stretch along the horizon.

Flower and fruit; the meaning and goal.

As I walk this spring, I observe

the growing clouds of crimson

and a beaten gold of this vast farm.

All these changes. Climate does change.

The morning glow thaws the foliage,

blazing almost blood-red, a decagon fire.

Nevertheless, it is my birthday –

completing this blessing picture.
